​Embracing an eco-friendly lifestyle is easy in our communities, thanks to an extensive network of scenic bike paths. Here’s an overview of notable trails in each area:​

Cedar Rapids, IA

Cedar River Trail

This 13-mile trail traverses Cedar Rapids, connecting to the Cedar Valley Nature Trail. It winds through downtown, offering access to the NewBo Czech Village District, parks, and the picturesque Cedar River. ​

Sac & Fox Trail

A 7.1-mile crushed limestone trail that follows the Cedar River and Indian Creek, providing a serene experience amidst native wildlife and natural landscapes.

CeMar Trail

Designed to link downtown Cedar Rapids with uptown Marion, this trail is currently under development, with portions already accessible within Marion city limits.

Cedar Falls, IA

Cedar Valley Nature Trail

Spanning approximately 52 miles from Hiawatha to Evansdale, this trail passes through Cedar Falls, offering a mix of paved and crushed limestone surfaces suitable for various activities.

George Wyth Memorial State Park

Located near Cedar Falls, the park features 5.5 miles of paved multi-purpose trails ideal for biking, connecting to a broader 80-mile network within the Waterloo and Cedar Falls area.

Hartman Reserve Nature Center

This 308.9-acre nature reserve in Cedar Falls offers over six miles of trails, including segments of the American Discovery Trail, providing scenic routes through wetland, prairie, and forest habitats.

Marion, IA

Grant Wood Trail

An extension of the CeMar and Indian Creek Trails, this trail offers additional miles for cyclists, connecting Cedar Rapids and Marion through scenic landscapes.

CeMar Trail

Within Marion, the CeMar Trail utilizes easements from private property owners, city park land, and former railroad property to connect downtown Cedar Rapids with uptown Marion.

Indian Creek Trail

Traversing city parks and natural areas for 3.9 miles, this trail offers a scenic route through Marion, ideal for both casual and avid cyclists.

Tiffin, IA

Clear Creek Trail

This trail runs through Tiffin, offering scenic views along Clear Creek and connecting to neighboring communities, providing a peaceful ride through natural landscapes.

Hoover Nature Trail

Part of the American Discovery Trail, this developing 24-mile crushed limestone rail trail follows the old Chicago, Rock Island, and Pacific Railroad route, with portions completed near Ely and West Branch, offering scenic routes through eastern Iowa’s landscapes.

Cedar Valley Nature Trail

Accessible from nearby Solon via the Hoover Nature Trail, this 70-mile trail extends north through Cedar Rapids to Waterloo, offering cyclists a long-distance route through diverse Iowa landscapes.
